Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means ‘universal life force’. It is the vital energy which naturally flows through and nurtures all living things, also known in different traditions as Chi (Chinese), Prana (Indian) and Mana (Hawaian).
Reiki healing was developed (or some would say rediscovered) by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century. Originally it was handed down to a very small number of initiates or Masters. But in the last years of the 20th Century a number of Reiki healers felt that the earth needed as much healing as possible and decided to widen the number of those initiated or ‘attuned’ to the Reiki energy forces. Reiki practitioners have received attunements to a special energy vibration. This enables them to channel the healing energy direct from the Source to other people. Reiki energy bring deep relaxation, soothing emotions and reduces negative feelings. Our practitioners are all Reiki Masters and are also able to offer training in traditional Usui Reiki as well as Tibetan Reiki. |
